Warehouse Conversions, Latest Sydney Property Styling Trend

The warehouse is having a residential rebound. Despite being years on trend, warehouses are more popular than ever. With most of Sydney’s population residing in densely covered areas, space is the greatest bliss. And warehouses are a perfect combination of amplitude and the industrial-loft style vibe shown in trendy interior design magazines.

They are not only the latest styling trend, but a big challenge for property stylists. For example, this Darlinghurst warehouse styled by the Evolve Styling team was an interesting experience resulting in a great sales price outcome.

Emerging warehouses, emerging suburbs

"Buyers of warehouses don't care about the suburb. They are much more interested in the building itself", affirms Ivan Bresic from BresicWhitney.

From the buyers point of view, warehouses are a quality investment, and buyers are willing to pay a prime price. That premium can be 10 to 20 per cent. According to Belle Property agent Scott Aggett, warehouse conversions receive, on average, four times the inquiry rate of a regular home for sale.

These new properties have a vital influence in the neighbourhood, turning old suburbs into hot trendy areas overnight. The cool locations for warehouse are shifting. With Surry Hills and Redfern already fostered, Rosebery, Chippendale, Marrickville, Tempe, and St Peters, amongst others, are emerging warehouse areas hitting the market at attractive prices for both sellers and buyers.

Rosebery

Rosebery is becoming a trendy postcode, where investors are capitalising old industrial buildings to turn them into apartments.

Chippendale

Commercial area converted to the centrepoint of trendy cafes and art galleries. University campuses and student accommodation have had a great influence in this area full of historic buildings ready to arouse.

Tempe

Open space living is the jewel of this coming suburb, preferred by buyers who are looking for a stylish converted property out of the pricey Newtown.

Marrickville

Once an industrial neighbourhood, now it’s not only a food heaven, but the heart of the trendy warehouse conversion, becoming one of the fastest emerging suburbs in Sydney.
